We are open from the first Tuesday in June through the last Saturday in August.
Guided tours are available Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. or by appointment.
Museum Exhibit Rooms
The first floor is a replica of a Victorian home of the 1900s.
FOYER
The above is what greets you upon your entrance to the Harbour House Museum. Come and visit this beautifully restored "Turn of the Century" home setting.
Also, in the Foyer is an Automaton. An automaton is self-operating machine. They are quite rare. This Automaton was probably made in the 1980s. It was probably used in a store window to attract attention.
Circa 1885. This piece of history is in operating order and we are hopeful that our guests (of all ages) will delight in its novelty and uniqueness.
FORMAL PARLOR / MUSIC ROOM
The above is a look into the formal parlor, this room is complete with pocket doors.
KITCHEN Included in the kitchen is an ice box and ice tongs. On the wood stove are flat irons and iron holders.
LIBRARY / HERITAGE CENTER The library houses many reference materials and Visitors are welcome to do research in our library. For more information, go to the Heritage Center page.
Upstairs are six exhibit rooms with the themes: Local Logging & Mining, Women’s Interest Room, Local Trophy/Sports with Photos and trophies from the school and the area, Ojibwe room, Children's Antique Toys.
Dedicated to the memory of Charlotte Bennet Eckerberg, mother of Julia Nyholm, a former resident, is a tribute to the many uncounted generations of Indian people who have lived for centuries in this area. The exhibit consists of family heirlooms, and the personal collection of Earl R. Nyholm, Mrs. Eckerberg's grandson.
